An elegant pair of silver vases from the Louis Comfort Tiffany collection, created in the USA in the first half of the 20th century. The vases are designed in a refined baluster form, with pronounced proportions and stylised floral décor characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The organic lines encircling the body mimic the motion of stems and blooming buds, reflecting the philosophy of harmony between nature and art, so prominent among Tiffany & Co. artisans. The exquisite chasing and smooth relief transitions demonstrate the exceptional craftsmanship and impeccable quality control for which this legendary American firm is renowned. Such pieces from Louis Comfort Tiffany collections were produced both for private clientele and the brand’s international exhibition programme.

Tiffany & Co.s decorative silverwork of the early 20th century, especially from the Louis Comfort Tiffany collection, represents an important legacy of American Art Nouveau. Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933), son of founder Charles Tiffany, became one of the leading figures in American decorative arts, integrating Art Nouveau aesthetics into both jewellery and interior design. His creations are characterised by a deep sensitivity to natural forms, asymmetry, and expressive use of materials—from glass to silver.

The vases’ curved silhouettes and stylised botanical ornamentation reflect the defining features of American modernism—a synthesis of function and artistic expression. Such silver pieces were often custom-made or exhibited at major international events, including the Worlds Columbian Exposition in Chicago (1893) and the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis (1904), where Tiffany & Co. regularly earned acclaim.

Excellent condition. Silver undistorted, chasing crisp.
