A ceremonial pair of silver seven-light candelabra executed in the spirit of Historicism with a clear reference to Baroque forms and proportions. The composition is distinguished by a monumental silhouette, rich sculptural modeling and balanced architectural structure. The massive shaped bases, decorated with volutes and acanthus motifs, support tall baluster stems rising into an elaborate branched crown with gracefully curved S-shaped arms. The relief ornament enhances the play of light across the polished silver surface. Such pieces were conceived for grand interiors of the fin de siècle period.
