An elegant decorative model of a speedboat crafted from solid wood and fine veneers, combining light-toned woods with lacquered rosewood. The hull is defined by a refined, elongated profile characteristic of the 1930s, emphasizing movement and the streamlined aesthetic associated with transatlantic regattas and prestigious coastal resorts. The deck is inlaid with contrasting longitudinal wood strips forming a rhythmic geometric pattern typical of the Art Deco style.

The cockpit interior is carefully detailed, featuring cream-toned upholstered seating, a steering wheel, a dashboard with miniature gauges, and a metal-framed windscreen. Decorative elements - cleats, rails, signal horn, propeller, and rudder - are executed in silver-plated metal, adding a refined brilliance and reinforcing the model’s collectible appeal.

The model is presented on a blackened wooden base, enhancing its display character and ensuring stability. The object may be regarded as an interior sculptural piece, reflecting the cult of speed, luxury, and technological progress that defined the first half of the twentieth century.

The Art Deco style, emerging in the 1920s and reaching its maturity in the 1930s, became the artistic expression of industrial optimism and the fascination with speed. Following the 1925 Paris International Exhibition of Decorative Arts, the aesthetic of clean lines, contrasting materials, and polished lacquered surfaces expanded into architecture, decorative arts, and naval design. Motor yachts and racing boats produced in France, Italy, and the United States became symbols of a new elite - industrialists, collectors, and prominent figures of Europe’s coastal resorts.

Decorative models of such boats held a distinguished place in the interiors of Riviera villas and aboard ocean liners. They functioned not only as commemorative objects but also as statements of technical elegance in an era when engineering innovation was inseparable from artistic refinement. The use of precious wood veneers, polished metal fittings, and disciplined geometry reflects the ambition to unite luxury and functionality. Today, such models are regarded as significant artifacts of twentieth-century material culture, illustrating the development of yachting, design history, and the modernist aesthetic.

The model is in good collector’s condition. Minor surface wear consistent with age is visible on the varnish, and the metal elements display a light natural patina. Structurally stable, with no visible losses or restoration.
