Tiffany & Co. - a jewelry company founded in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John F. Young. The first store opened in Manhattan under the name Tiffany, Young and Ellis, but was renamed in 1853 when Charles Tiffany took over. Since then, Tiffany & Co. were discovered in many countries of the world. The central and oldest store is located in Manhattan, at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street.Charles Lewis Tiffany and John F. Young began their business by selling office supplies. It was only in the 1840s that gold and silver items appeared in the company′s assortment. In 1837, the company began to acquire branded elements that are the brand′s hallmark to this day. First of all, this is the corporate color - a special shade of blue and the traditional packaging - Tiffany Blue Box. The first catalog of the brand - Blue Book (Blue Book), was published in 1845. It has become one of the main means of communication with clients. The catalog is published to this day and is one of the essential brand attributes.Tiffany became the first American company to establish a standard for the use of 925 sterling silver. This happened in 1851, when silver jewelry was very popular. The standard was soon introduced throughout the United States, thanks in large part to Charles Tiffany. Tiffany & Co design studio became the first American design school.In 1853, Charles Tiffany buys out his partner′s stake and renames the store Tiffany & Co.
