The work is based on the paintings The Seasons” - a pictorial cycle of four paintings created by Giuseppe Arcimboldo in 1563. It was presented to Emperor Maximilian II in 1569 along with the cycle of paintings The Four Elements”, painted in 1566. The 1573 cycle is kept in the Louvre Museum. Made in oil on canvas. The size of each painting is 76 x 64 cm.
