The icon is executed in the canonical iconography of the Kazan Mother of God, one of the most venerated images in Russian Orthodoxy. The half-length figure of the Virgin is shown with a gentle inclination of the head, emphasizing prayerful humility and inner spiritual concentration. The Christ Child is depicted frontally, raising His hand in blessing, in accordance with the established tradition of this iconographic type.
The painting is executed in tempera on a wooden panel with gesso ground. The color palette is built on a harmonious combination of ochre-golden and warm brown tones, with accents of red and deep green in the garments. The faces are softly modeled, with subtle treatment of facial features and delicate transitions of light and shade. The background and haloes are rendered in a conventional golden tonality, reinforcing the sacred character of the image. Traditional Cyrillic inscriptions are present in the margins, identifying the Mother of God and the Christ Child.
