A large silver ladle crafted in the expressive style of Russian Modern, featuring the eras characteristic flowing lines and a decorative handle of complex silhouette. The asymmetric body, boldly curved walls, and exposed joints of the handle emphasize its belonging to the high art of silversmithing of the early 20th century. The interior surface is finished with original gilding, enhancing its ornamental appeal and conferring a festive, ceremonial character.
Marks: Assay mark for 84 silver in an oval cartouche with a female head in kokoshnik; makers mark 5A (5th Artel of Jewelers), Moscow, early 20th century.
