Historical background: Alexander Benediktovich Lyubavin, the owner of a silver and goldsmith`s factory founded in the 1850s at 31 Nevsky Prospect, bought F. Genrikhsen`s factory at 2 Grafsky Lane in 1893. In 1907, his son, court silversmith Nikolai Alexandrovich Lyubavin, managed the company. The company was awarded gold medals at fairs in Nizhny Novgorod (1896) and Stockholm (1897). The Lyubavin AL jewelry company operated from 1893 to 1917. In 1897, it had the following workers on its staff: 38 men, two teenagers, and four boys.
