Silver snuff box, oval in shape, aristocratic proportions and spectacular coloring. With fine, delightful enamel grisaille, playing putti birds, and burning, orange guilloché enamel on the body. The white enamel edging on the lid centers the composition and multiplies the color of the enamels. Austrian diamond 800 sterling silver dog head hallmark. The masters monogram is probably SP in a circle. Austria-Hungary, early 20th century. 6.6 x 8.4 x 1.8 cm. Weight: 145 g.
