Polyphone - disc music box, late 19th century, Germany

Polyphone is a unique example of a music box made in Germany in the late 19th century. The body is made in the classic style of inlaid walnut, rectangular in shape, with a hinged lid. The upper part is decorated with a black and white illustration depicting children playing music, which gives the product a special historical charm. Inside the device there is a full double comb, providing accurate and melodic reproduction of musical pieces. The set includes 20 perforated metal discs (diameter 40 cm), each of which plays different musical compositions by European authors. Dimensions of the polyphone: 30 x 48 x 54 cm. Complete restoration has been carried out.
