An exquisite wine jug in neo-Renaissance style, made in Germany in the second half of the 19th century. The jug is made of transparent engraved glass with ornamental motifs in the form of two swans surrounded by a floral pattern, which creates a lace effect. The vessel is enclosed in a silver rim with voluminous floral festoons. The base is designed as a lace four-leaf pedestal. The neck is decorated with a high collar with rocaille motifs and acanthus leaves. The open handle connects to a hinged spout lid, which is activated by a pull on the handle. This work reflects the elegance and craftsmanship of silversmiths in Germany in the 19th century. Hallmarks: Master`s mark: letters AAI in a rectangular shield. numbers 800, corresponds to the silver sample adopted in Germany in the second half of the 19th century. Dimensions: Height: 37.5 cm, Width: 18.5 cm. Condition: In good condition. Material: Glass, silver, gilding.

Neo-Renaissance is a kind of eclecticism, third quarter of the 19th century. Implies borrowing style samples from the Italian civil architecture of the Renaissance. The palazzo with the invariable diamond rustic, organizing rhythm of arches, castle abstraction and austere grandeur - served as the architectural basis for the tenement houses and public buildings of the period. Several heavy massifs of wood, pilasters and columns, mascarons shaped the furniture and interiors of the 1850s and 60s. The French late Renaissance as a national school became the platform for stylizing the second empire. High mansard roofs, curved roof caps, currencies - migrated from the chateau and castles of the 17th century to the streets of Paris, from where they parted with Napoleon III in the towns and villages of the planet. The noble universe of rebirth gave man a sense of dignity and the opportunity to rise above the prose of reality.
